Haiti despues del terremoto - after earthquake desde satelite





This half-meter resolution satellite image shows the USNS Comfort (TAH-20), a U.S. Navy medical vessel, anchored in Port-au-Prince Harbor, Haiti. The white hospital ship, measuring 894 feet or 272 meters long, is seen in the center of the image and is accompanied by other vessels. According to news reports the USNS Comfort was deployed to Haiti in an effort to save victims of the devastating 7.0-magnitude earthquake that struck the area on Jan. 12. The image was taken by the GeoEye-1 satellite from 423 miles in space at 10:18 a.m. EST on Jan. 21, 2010 as it moved from north to south over the Caribbean at a speed of 4 miles per second.
